Rider Bio
Rock first hung his “shingle” as a cutting horse trainer in 1983. That same year he married his wife Landy and in 1990 they were blessed by the arrival of their son Cody. Since that time Rock has amassed more than $2 million in earnings, an achievement which earned him a much coveted position in NCHA’s Riders Hall of Fame. As a member of NCHA and PCCHA, Rock is an active participant; Serving at committee level, as a Board of Director for both associations and in 2006 as President of PCCHA. In addition, Rock is an NCHA AAAA accredited judge. Giving back to the industry that has provided so much to him is of great importance to Rock, as he continues his active participation and support of these organizations. Rock Hedlund Cutting Horses is based at Rock & Landy’s ranch in Acampo, California.
Career
In close to 30 years of training cutting horses Rock’s successes are many, among them; Two – World Championships, Two – Reserve World Championships and multiple Aged Event titles. In addition to his own successes, Rock’s coaching and tuning skills have helped his clients to achieve; Five – NCHA World Championships, a multitude of NCHA Top 15 finishes, Thirty – PCCHA Championships and Twenty – PCCHA Reserve Championships.
